MIRI: A 33-year-old local crane operator is feared drowned after his co-worker failed to locate him on their tugboat berthed at Logan Tujuh, Batang Baram yesterday.
According to a statement from Operations Centre of Fire and Rescue Department, the absence of Raziman Roslan was only reported at 2.30pm yesterday.
The tugboat berthed at Logan Tujuh around 7pm on Nov 18 due to the falling light.
“The victim is believed to have fallen off the tugboat and into the river after carrying out routine check on the tugboat around 6am,” the statement added.
Raziman’s co-worker tried to search for him but to no avail, forcing him to alert the authority.
A search and rescue operation was immediately activated yesterday.
