KUCHING: Six individuals suffered light injuries after they were involved in a three-vehicle pile-up at KM13 Jalan Sri Aman-Betong around 8.30am yesterday.

The accident involved two lorries and a car.

Sri Aman Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba) found two lorry passengers trapped in the first lorry’s cabin requiring extrication.

Both sustained injuries to their legs after they were pinned in the cabin.

However, the driver of the same lorry managed to exit the cabin by himself and only sustained cuts to his face.

The driver and passenger of the second lorry, as well as the car driver escaped with only light injuries and managed to get out of the vehicles before firefighters arrived.

After the six victims were taken for further medical attention by ambulance, firefighters conducted a clean-up to ensure the area was free from debris and oil spills, which could endanger other road users.

The Bomba operation ended at 9.50am.
