MIRI: The Miri Trade Fair (Mitraf), which is now in its 23rd edition, has succeeded in drawing in tourists, particularly from Brunei, to the city.

Mayor Adam Yii said Mitraf has benefitted businesses and consumers, as well as helped to promote Miri as a resort city.

“Mitraf has been able to attract local consumers as well as Brunei tourists every time it is being held in this resort city, which is also a shopping paradise as far as Bruneians are concerned.

“It helps to bring thriving business opportunities to participants from all walks of life, attracting more tourists, consequently promoting economic development of Miri. It is definitely worthy of praise,” he said when launching Mitraf 23 on Thursday.

He pointed out that Mitraf has also succeeded in attracting more participants with every edition.

“Mitraf has built a solid platform to foster closer relationships between various local and foreign industries, businesses, and networking among participants, especially towards meeting consumers’ needs.

“This time, I can see that the products have been greatly diversified and the services provided to the consumers also continue to improve, resulting in positive results and excellent reviews,” Yii added.

Mitraf 23, organised by See Hua Marketing Sdn Bhd, will run until tomorrow (Nov 24) at Permaisuri Imperial City Mall.

More than 100 exhibitors are taking part in the event, which showcases a wide range of products and services.
