MIRI: The Congress of Unions of Employees in the Public and Civil Services (Cuepacs) has reminded civil servants in Sarawak to ensure they deliver quality services to the people.

Cuepacs Sarawak deputy chairman Omar Bahrein Unin said such commitment is necessary to meet the public’s high expectations.

“Cuepacs Sarawak hopes that the civil servants throughout the state will be able to continue to provide the best services to the people,” he said.

Omar also thanked the Sarawak government for approving a special assistance of RM500 for federal civil servants serving in the state, which was announced by Chief Minister Datuk Patinggi Abang Johari Tun Openg yesterday.

He said Cuepacs Sarawak has conducted a series of meetings with Abang Johari on the request from federal civil servants serving in Sarawak.

“With the support from the state government, the federal civil servants in the state are indeed very happy with such an announcement. This shows that the Sarawak government appreciates the service that has been provided by the federal civil servants in the state,” he said.

Omar added Cuepacs Sarawak is also grateful the state government is considering its request for a housing area for federal civil servants.

The special incentive for federal civil servants serving in Sarawak will be disbursed in June next year.
