KUCHING: One Academy received Education Excellence Award 2017-2019 for private institution of higher education (Institut Pengajian Tinggi Swasta) at Napei (National Association of Private Educational Institutions) Education Excellence Awards Ceremony held recently at Palace of Golden Horses in Kuala Lumpur.
The recognition for being one of the leading educational institutions for art and design was presented by Dato’ Prof Dr Mohd Saleh Jaafar, deputy director general of Higher Education (Academic and Development) from Ministry of Education after the opening speech by Napei president Assc Prof Elajsolan VM Mohan.
The award process consisted of verification of application submissions by members followed by premises visitation of shortlisted members’ institutions by the Awards Committee. The final selection was decided by an independent panel of external judges.
With the support of Ministry of Education and other government bodies, Napei continues to enhance and maintain the quality of local private educational institutions towards elevating Malaysia as a centre of educational excellence.
This year, The One Academy has made monumental achievements by being ranked the World’s No 1 Best Concept Art & Illustration School (Game, Animation & Film Art) in The Rookies International’s World School Rankings, and other categories.
Its students had bagged numerous awards in Student Kancil x sCooler Awards 2019 and received Creative School of the Year title for 2018 and 2019 consecutively. Students are encouraged to take part in various competitions to showcase their talents, boost morale and gain valuable experience.
Established in 1987, Napei gives recognition to private educational institutions in Malaysia from early childhood to tertiary levels biennially through its awards ceremony.
