Man arrested for possession of syabu

LIMBANG: An unemployed man was arrested by police in front of a house in Kampung Seberang Kedai on Wednesday after he was found to have syabu in his sling bag.

Limbang District Police Chief, Superintendent Abang Zainal Abidin Abang Ahmad said the suspect, 28 was arrested at 1.45pm, with 24.69 grammes of syabu worth RM 3,703.

“The drug was kept in 60 straw tubes in his sling bag.

“The suspect admitted he obtained the drugs from a local supplier in his village and police are still investigating,” he said in a statement yesterday.

Abang Zainal said investigation showed that the suspect was actively involved in drug abuse activities around Limbang town.

The case is being investigated under Section 39A (1) of the Dangerous Drugs Act 1952.
