Scrap yard owner nabbed for procuring stolen goods

MIRI: A scrap yard owner here was arrested on suspicion of buying stolen goods over the past week.

The suspect, aged 39, was apprehended by police at his premises along Riam Road here at around 1pm yesterday.

The case was connected to the arrest of another man here last week, who was found to have stolen nine
compressors and sold them to the scrap yard.

Police also seized a receipt of the transaction from the scrap yard owner.

When contacted yesterday, district police chief ACP Lim Meng Seah confirmed the arrest.
