KOTA KINABALU: The Sabah Women Advisory Council is calling for more nominations of women leaders in Sabah to take part in the 2020 Sabah Level Women’s Award scheduled for March 8.
Its chairperson, Datuk Noni Said, said she hoped for more participation of women leaders who are from outside of Kota Kinabalu as well for the award.
There are altogether four awards for women during the award ceremony held in conjunction with the Women’s Day celebration.
They consist of the “Tokoh Wanita” Award, the Excellent Woman Award, Excellent Woman Entrepreneur Award and Excellent Woman Association Award (for non-government organization).
There is also a special award for men who have contributed to the development of women, she said.
Forms for the nomination and the guidelines are available at the Sabah Women Affairs Department at Wisma Wanita near here.
The nomination must be submitted by February 20, this year.
“We often get nomination for women leaders who are from the city. We hope to be able to get the participation of women from outside the city, and even from rural areas who have contributed to their society or excelled in their business endeavours,” she said.
