KOTA KINABALU: The Civil Aviation Authority of Malaysia (CAAM) and Air Accident Investigation Bureau (AAIB) are expected to conduct an investigation into the helicopter crash involving a Bell 206 helicopter, which belongs to Sabah Air Aviation Sdn Bhd that occurred in Marudi, Sarawak yesterday.
Sabah Air Aviation in a statement today, said they will release pertinent information on the crash which occurred late Saturday evening as soon as it is available.
It added that the crews of the helicopter were sent to the Marudi Hospital for an intial check up.
“Sabah Air has dispatched an aircraft to Marudi to pick up both pilot and co-pilot from Marudi and bring them back to Kota Kinabalu for further medical check up,” the statement said.
It also disclosed that the Bell 206 L3 ( 9M-AZK) helicopter crashed as it took off in an area between Marudi and Base Camp (JUPEM) at about 5.43pm on Saturday.
All on board were the pilot and co-pilot flying the helicopter survived and no injuries were reported, the statement said.
