Austria keen to work with Sarawak on green technology

KUCHING: Austria hopes to collaborate with Sarawak in the fields of green technology, infrastructure, health and digitalisation.

This was expressed by Austria’s ambassador to Malaysia, Dr Michael Posti when paying a courtesy call on Chief Minister Datuk Patinggi Abang Johari Tun Openg at Wisma Bapa Malaysia in Petra Jaya yesterday.

A statement from Chief Minister’s Office received yesterday said both sides discussed, among other things, cooperation and opportunities to be explored in the economic, educational, tourism and health aspects of development between Sarawak and Austria.

“The discussion also touched on Sarawak’s potentials in terms of future projects in green technology, infrastructure, health and digitalisation.

“The envoy expressed hope of Austria collaborating with Sarawak in these areas in the future,” the statement added.

Aqua Engineering CEO Ruddolf Edlinger, Embassy of Austria in Malaysia’s Commercial Counsellor Reinhart Zimmermann, Eric Kueh from Chua Hua Sdn Bhd and Friedrich Oberbucher from International Business Advisory were also present during the visit.
