KUCHING: More than 300 Sebuyau folk were given insights on the dangers of crimes, drugs and scams during a meet-the-client’s day held at the district’s development hall on Feb 4.

Organised by the Simunjan District Police Headquarters, the programme also provided the public an opportunity to field questions in a dialogue session to enquire and understand issues of importance to them.

“This programme will better educate the people not to fall for or expose themselves to crimes,” said Simunjan District police chief DSP Merbin Lisa in a statement on Thursday.

He added that Simunjan police personnel will strengthen to better serve the people while local folks were reminded to be the eyes and ears, and report suspicions of criminal activities to the police.

“Rest be assured that the identity of those who provide information will be kept confidential,” said Merbin.

Various departments under the district police headquarters gave talks on general crime, drug related activities and commercial crimes involving scams. Also at the event were Sebuyau sub-district SAO Ajis Ahmad, local community leaders and village chiefs.
