Free MyFreeview decoders: Seven distribution centres to open in Sabah, Sarawak

PUTRAJAYA: The Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission (MCMC) has identified seven distribution centre locations in Sabah and Sarawak where the low-income (B40) and disabled groups will be able to claim their free MyFreeview decoders.

MCMC in a statement today said in Sabah the centre would be located at MCMC Integrated Complex, Kota Kinabalu and the counters would open from Feb 20 to 22.

In Sarawak two locations have been identified in Kuching, two in MIri, Bintulu (1) and Miri (1).

Those eligible in Kuching could claim their decoders either at the Aeroville Mall from Feb 15 -16; or at E-Mart Batu Kawah from Feb 17-18.

In Miri the distribution centre at E-Mart Tudan would open on Feb 26 and the other at Dewan Surah Miri from Feb 27 – 28.

As for Bintulu the decoders can be collected at Times Square Mall from March 1-2 while in Sibu, the centre located at Sekolah Menengah Kebangsaan Nangka will open from March Feb 7 to 8.

The counters will open from 9am to 4.30pm on the fixed dates, the statement added.

Recipients claiming the free digital TV decoders are advised to bring along their identity card for verification purposes, MCMC said.
