KUCHING: State Education Department director Dr Azhar Ahmad has confirmed that 50 pupils of the Special Inclusive Education Programme (PPKI) class of SK Petra Jaya here have been ordered to undergo self-quarantine as a precautionary measure against Corona Virus Disease (Covid-19).

According to Azhar, the order was issued after one of the pupil’s family member, who is running a fever after returning from Singapore recently.

“We received information on the matter last night and requested the Health Department to have that pupil quarantined at home.

“We have also decided that all those from the pupil’s class to go under self-quarantine for two days, depending on the situation,” he told Utusan Borneo when contacted today.

In view of the matter, Azhar appealed to the school and parents to closely monitor the health condition of their pupils and children.
