Covid-19: Five new PUI cases recorded in Sarawak

KUCHING: Five new patient-under-investigation (PUI) cases for Covid-19, which involved all Malaysians, were recorded at Sarawak General Hospital today, says the Sarawak Disaster Management Committee in a statement.

This latest figure brings the cumulative PUI cases in Sarawak – since Jan 10 – up to 85 cases today.

Out of the total figure, 75 cases were proven negative after laboratory tests while the remaining 10 cases, including the five new recorded cases, are pending results.

The 85 cases comprise of 64 Malaysians, 18 Chinese nationals and one patient each from Thailand, Indonesia and Canada.

The statement added that as of today, the Health Department had screened 5,176 arrivals at various airports, land and sea entry points throughout the state.
