Covid-19: Three new PUI cases recorded in Sarawak

KUCHING: Sarawak recorded three new Person Under Investigation (PUI) cases for the Coronavirus Disease 2019 (Covid-19) today.

According to a statement from the State Disaster Management Committee, the three PUI cases were recorded in the Sarawak General Hospital, here, today. All three are Malaysians.

With these three cases, Sarawak has now a cumulative total of 102 PUI cases as from Jan 10.

The majority, at 79 cases, are Malaysians, while 20 are Chinese nationals. There are one Thai, one Indonesian and one Canadian.

However, a total of 97 had tested negative and five (four at Sarawak General Hospital and one in Miri Hospital, all Malaysians) are still awaiting results from laboratory testing.

As at 12 noon yesterday, the Health Department had screened 10,647 arrivals at various airports, land and sea entry points to bring the total numbers to 141, 939 since February 1, this year.
