MIRI: Village security and development committees (JKKKs) need to build a strong communication network with various government departments and agencies to boost development in their villages.

The JKKKs must also play proactive role in ensuring the people in their villages benefit from development programmes implemented by the government, Assistant Minister of Tourism, Arts and Culture Datuk Sebastian Ting said.

“Community leaders as well as the JKKK must continue to work hand in hand with the state government so that the government departments and the agencies can draft aand implement comprehensive development plans for the villages,” he said at the ‘Leaders with People’ programme at Kampung Luak here yesterday.

The Piasau assemblyman assured that the state government is very committed to further improve the infrastructure in the villages and establish good two-way communication with the grassroots leaders to solve the problems and issues faced by the people.
