KUCHING: Puncak Borneo MP Willie Mongin has apologised to his constituents for leaving Parti Keadilan Rakyat (PKR).

He said the decision was taken into consideration with ten other PKR MPs to form an independent bloc in the Parliament.

“I would like to apologise to Puncak Borneo voters who voted for me. The Pakatan Harapan government had collapsed just a moment ago and Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia have left the coalition.

“I seek your blessings to find the best way for us to be together for the sake of the people and the country, especially all voters at Puncak Borneo. I have no other way except to find the best solution for the prosperity and well-being of you all,” he said in his Facebook post today.

Since posting his statement around 2.30pm, it has garnered more than 500 reactions and various comments from his Facebook followers.

Efforts to get Willie to comment further was futile as he did not answer his phone nor reply to text messages sent via WhatsApp.

Apart from Willie, two more state PKR MPs had also left the party namely Selangau MP Baru Bian and Saratok MP Ali Biju.

They join other PKR MPs who left the party namely Datuk Seri Mohamed Azmin Ali (Gombak), Zuraida Kamaruddin (Ampang), Datuk Saifuddin Abdullah (Indera Mahkota), Datuk Kamaruddin Jaafar (Bandar Tun Razak), Datuk Mansor Othman (Nibong Tebal), Datuk Seri Dr Santhara Kumar (Segamat), Datuk Rashid Hasnon (Batu Pahat) and Johathan Yasin (Ranau).
