Covid-19: Two new PUI cases recorded in Sarawak

KUCHING: Sarawak recorded two new Person Under Investigation (PUI) cases for the Coronavirus Disease 2019 (Covid-19) today.

According to a statement from the State Disaster Management Committee, both PUI cases were recorded at the Sarawak General Hospital.

Both cases involve Malaysians.

With these two cases, Sarawak now has a cumulative total of 117 PUI cases since Jan 10.

The majority, at 93 cases, are Malaysian while 21 are Chinese nationals. One Thai national, one Indonesian and one Canadian were also a part of the statistics.

114 of these cases were proven negative during testing and three are awaiting laboratory test results.

As of yesterday, the Health Department screened a total of 13,814 arrivals to the state, bringing the total of screenings at airports and other entry and exit points to the state to 221,417 since Jan 1.
