SMK Sacred Heart among STPM best-performers in Sarawak

SIBU: The SMK Sacred Heart here is still regarded as among the best secondary schools in Sarawak, as it registers the most number of students obtaining 4.0 Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) in Sijil Tinggi Persekolahan Malaysia (STPM) examination last year.

In this regard, principal David Teo is very proud of the school’s overall achievement.

“We take pride over this; this is due to the hard work of the teachers and the students who have given their time and commitment.

“I think SMK Sacred Heart is still the best in the state, for the most number of students obtaining straight 4As in STPM 2019,” he said when met after presenting the result slips to the students at the school’s Centenary Hall yesterday afternoon.

SMK Sacred Heart board of management secretary Dr Gregory Hii, vice-secretary Yong King Sung and member Dato’ Lau Ngie Hua were also present.

Seven straight 4A scorers who were met at the hall were Chan Chew Mee, Agnes Lau Chin Yie, Kong Su Yee, Christopher Tan Wei Jie, Johan Ko Chiang Xu, Kong Siew Lan and Lim Mei Yien.

Apart from them, there were also 12 other students who obtained 4As.

Fourteen students attained 3As, and 17 got 2As in their STPM examinations. Moreover, SMK Sacred Heart also recorded 100 per cent passing rate for STPM 2019, and is listed as among the three top schools in Sarawak for obtaining CGPA of at least 3.30.
