SIBU: The body of a fishing vessel worker feared drowned on Tuesday was found at 11.07am yesterday.

A spokesperson of Sarawak Fire and Rescue Department operations centre said the body was found by a search and rescue team by the bank of Rajang River about 4km from where he was last seen.

The body, later identified by his colleague as Wartono, in his 40s, from Kampung Kriok, Indonesia, was handed over to the police.

A mechanic working on another fishing vessel, meanwhile, claimed he saw a man struggling the water about 2pm Tuesday.

The mechanic said he did not see the man’s face, who later submerged in the water.
