SIBU: A motorcyclist died on the spot in a collision with a car at KM 13, Jalan Oya-Mukah near here around 8.30pm Sunday night.
According to Mukah district police chief DSP Jimmy Panyau, the rider is identified as Mohammad Suffian Mohd Taupiq, 30 from Kampung Senau, Oya.
“The victim died on the spot due to serious head injury,” he told Utusan Borneo.
The driver of the car was said to be coming from the direction of Kampung Judan heading towards Oya.
Jimmy said, the driver upon reaching the junction to turn to the right towards the direction of his house when the motorcyclist rammed into the back right door of the car .
The rider was confirmed to have died at the scene by Mukah Hospital medical team.
The driver on the other hand, did not suffer any injury.
The case will be investigated under Section 41 (1) Road Transport Act 1987.
