Sarawak teams bag awards at PROTUNe Convention 2019

KUCHING: The National Tunas Niaga Program (PROTUNe) Convention 2019 saw three Sarawakian school teams bagging Overall Best Protune Company, Best Company, Best Booth and Best Teacher-Advisor awards recently.

During the convention, Sarawak schools also came in second for Best Corporate Report and Best Presentation categories; and third in Best Company Manager category.

“A total of 18 students and six teachers took part in this year’s convention from Feb 13 to 16 at the Ilmu Pauh Putra Hall, University Perlis Malaysia (Unimap), Perlis against teams from eight different states,” said a press release by Sarawak Economic Development Corporation (SEDC).

SEDC general manager Abdul Hadi Datuk Abdul Kadir who recently hosted lunch for the students, teachers and school principals said the convention had given beneficial experience and exposure to local students.

In congratulating the winners, Hadi also thanked Sarawak Education Department for encouraging entrepreneurship programme in secondary schools.

“The convention had enabled the students to explore their interest in entrepreneurship and boost their confidence especially during the presentation of their report and products,” he said and hoped it would will fuel the ambition to become successful businessmen and businesswomen.

Also present was Assistant Minister of International Trade and Industry, Industrial Terminal and Entrepreneur Development Datuk Mohd Naroden Majais.
