Double-digit increase in new Covid-19 PUI cases in Sarawak

KUCHING: Sarawak recorded 10 new person-under-investigation (PUI) cases with six cases under observation at the Sarawak General Hospital, three at Miri Hospital and one at the Bintulu Hospital.

From Jan 10 until 10.30am today, Sarawak has recorded a total of 177 PUI cases, of which 157 have tested negative for the virus.

Another 20 cases are awaiting results from laboratory tests, said a statement from the State Disaster Management Committee.

Of the 177, 147 are Malaysians, followed by 22 Chinese nationals, two Vietnamese, two Pakistanis, one Thai, one Indonesian, one Canadian and one Australian.

The Health Department has until 11am yesterday screened 14,298 arrivals to the state at all its airports, sea and land entry points to bring it to a total of 353,325 people screened since Feb 1.
