MIRI: PBB vice-president Datuk Abdul Karim Rahman Hamzah has ‘congratulated’ both the DAP and PKR for being the architect of their own downfall.

The Tourism, Arts and Culture Minister said the two parties have only themselves to blame for the collapse of the Pakatan Harapan (PH) government, and should not point the finger at Gabungan Parti Sarawak (GPS).

“On GPS’ side, I have to congratulate DAP and PKR for bringing down their own government because they were in the government. If you don’t look after your government properly, the government disintegrates and then a new government comes up.

“They are the ones to be blamed so why blame GPS? We were the opposition for the past 22 months,” he said when met by reporters after officiating at the certificate-presentation ceremony for the Regional Specific Tourist Guide Training, here yesterday.

Abdul Karim, who is also state Youth and Sports Minister, was commenting on statements by several DAP elected representatives who accused GPS of having played a key role in the collapse of the PH administration.

He said GPS has been busy administering the state and implementing many development projects, including those which had been suspended or scrapped by PH.

“We did not disturb them (PH) so why blame us? Blame yourselves. So again, I have to congratulate DAP and PKR for bringing down their own government,” he said.
