KOTA KINABALU: Puspanita Sabah has been urged to reach out to students at Sabah’s interior and render its assistance.

Sabah Secretary Datuk Safar Untong said that students in the interior of Sabah were faced with challenges just to acquire an education.

“Students have to walk long distances to get to school, for example,” said Safar when launching Sabah’s Puspanita 37th Annual General Meeting held at the Magellan Sutera Resort yesterday.

He urged Puspanita Sabah to work with like-minded organisations to set up hostels that would help reduce the burdens facing these students.

He reminded that through such endeavors, students in the interior would be more inclined to study and change their lives and that of their families.

Meanwhile, the chairperson of Puspanita Sabah, Datin Nuinda Alias said that they aimed to increase the association’s membership to 10,000.

This is about 50 percent of the total number of Sabah’s civil servants.
There are 7,389 Puspanita members in Sabah.
