Covid-19: Sarawak records 14 new PUI cases

KUCHING: Sarawak recorded 14 new person-under-investigation (PUI) cases for Coronavirus Disease 2019 (Covid-19) as of 10.30am today, said the State Disaster Management Committee (JPBN).

It said in a statement today that the Sarawak General Hospital (SGH) registered eight cases, three in Bintulu, one at Miri Hospital and two at Sibu Hospital.

“This brings the PUI cases in the state, since Jan 10 this year, to an accumulative total of 247 cases,” it said.

The committee said that so far, 224 had tested negative for Covid-19.

It also said 23 cases are still awaiting results from laboratory testing of which 17 are at SGH, three in Bintulu, one in Miri and two in Sibu.

The pending cases are all Malaysians, except for one Chinese national from Sibu.

The Health Department had until 11am yesterday screened 13,025 arrivals to the state at all its airports, sea and land entry points to bring it to a total of 444,537 screened at all airports, land and sea entry points state wide since Feb 1 this year.
