KOTA KINABALU: Sabah Health Department is in the process of locating all those who have attended the Tabligh gathering held at the Jamek Seri Petaling mosque in Kuala Lumpur recently to enable them to be tested for Coronavirus Disease 2019 (Covid-19), said its director Datuk Dr Christina Rundi.

She noted that the gathering was an international event that had attracted a lot of participants from all over the country.

“So now we are looking for them so that they can undergo test for the Covid-19,” she told reporters after the launch of the 22nd Sabah State Clinical Conference Sabah Surgery 2020.

She added that those who attended the gathering could also ease the Sabah Health Department’s effort by coming forward so that they could be tested for Covid-19.

At the same time, she advised those who have attended the gathering to undergo self-quarantine.

She urged the public not to panic and that facilities that are necessary to detect the disease, such as the fever centres and the thermal scanners placed at all entry points to Sabah continued to be in operation.

She also urged the public to not spread information that are “half-baked” and without carrying out background checks with the relevant authorities because this will impact on the entire population.

“We must be responsible when we share information,” she said.

As of during the time of the interview, there was no confirmation of any case of Covid-19 in Sabah.
