KOTA KINABALU: Sabah has reported 15 cases of Covid-19 as of yesterday, March 13.
The data shared at 10.28pm at the Health and People’s Wellbeing Ministry’s WhatsApp showed that the positive cases comprised 14 Malaysians and one Indonesian.
Earlier, Sabah Health Department director Datuk Dr Christina Rundi in a statement said that there are possibilities that more cases would be detected after the Tawau case.
However, she urged the people not to panic and to cooperate with all the Health offices at all districts in the effort to eradicate the pandemic.
Dr Rundi also urged the public to abstain from spreading wrong information in relations to Covid-19.
She added that the latest information about Covid-19 can be garnered at the Health Ministry’s website www.moh.gov.my
Commenting on information about a case in Papar that is being shared in the social media, Dr Rundi assured that her department together with the Health Ministry would continue to monitor the incidence of infections involving Covid-19 and that the public would be updated on the disease.
Meanwhile, Bernama reported that some 300 men from Tawau who attended a tabligh gathering at the Seri Petaling Mosque in Kuala Lumpur from Feb 27 to March 2 have turned up for Covid-19 screening.
Tawau Health Officer Dr G Navindran urged others who attended the gathering but had yet to do so, to come to the Tawau Hospital for the screening.
“Do not be afraid, come (for Covid-19 screening) in the interest of your own health and your family’s,” he told Bernama.
Dr Navindran said 350 men from Tawau, Lahad Datu, Kunak and Semporna participated in the gathering that involved more than 10,000 people.
