MIRI: Miri Hospital has limited access to the hospital to only two entrances – the main lobby and a path located near a bus station where visitors need to undergo health screening at both entrances.

The hospital’s management who issued a referral notice through its official Facebook page said that the steps were taken following the latest directive by the Ministry of Health (MOH) to reduce the risk of infection among patients, visitors and hospital staff following the increased Covid-19 cases.

Five other routes have been closed until further notice including to the Emergency Department (permission is limited to patients in need of emergency treatment and pregnant mothers), the Forensic Medical Department, pharmacy store, Medical Social Work Department and alternative pathways of specialist clinics, said the statement.

“Meanwhile, all outpatients, visitors and hospital staff are required to undergo a health screening on the main routes and wash their hands,” it said.

“Please let the staff on duty know if you have symptoms such as fever, colds, cough and breathing difficulties.

“Do inform if you or any of your immediate family members have visited areas known to be affected with Covid-19,” it added.
