PUTRAJAYA: The Women and Family Ministry today suggested that the repayment of the micro-credit scheme be postponed or rescheduled for a period of at least three months.
Minister Datuk Seri Rina Mohd Harun said the move would help entrepreneurs especially women from the bottom 40 per cent household income (B40) group who suffered losses in revenue due to the COVID-19 outbreak.
The move would also ease the economic pressure they are facing at the moment, she said.
She said the call was also directed at other business financing agencies such as the Entrepreneurial Group Economic Fund (TEKUN) and Amanah Ikhtiar Malaysia (AIM).
“Women entrepreneurs, particularly those from the B40 group, are also affected by the COVID-19 outbreak,” she said in a statement. – Bernama
