Two die from Covid-19 in Malaysia, says Health Minister


KUCHING: Two deaths from the Coronavirus Disease 2019 (Covid-19) have been recorded in the country today, said Health Minister Datuk Seri Dr Adham Baba.

He told a press conference in Putrajaya that the deaths today involved patients 178 and 358.

Patient 178, he said, was a 34-year-old man who had attended the religious event at Sri Petaling Mosque in Kuala Lumpur.

He fell ill on March 5 and was admitted at the hospital in Johor Baru on March 12 where he had died in intensive care.

Dr Adham said the other patient was a 60-year-old man who had died in Kuching today after he was admitted at the Sarawak General Hospital on March 14.

He said the deceased, who had a history of chronic diseases, suffered from cough, fever and had difficulty breathing on March 5.
