KUCHING: Over 1,800 workers from One Medicare Sdn Bhd have been working around the clock in 23 hospitals in Sarawak to assist patients of coronavirus disease (Covid-19) and prevent the spread of the virus.

According to One Medicare Sdn Bhd, the workers comprising cleaners, porter, laundry workers, clinical waster lorry drivers and technicians had to leave behind their families to carry out their duties to prevent the contagious virus from spreading further.

One Medicare Sdn Bhd is a private contracting firm for hospitals in the state.

The firm added the sacrifice made by these unsung heroes allow the public to carry on with their life without too much worry on the spreading of Covid-19 in the society.

“What saddened us the most is that certain quarters of the society has been spreading unverified and fakes news intended to create panic among the public, without considering the moral impact on these workers stationed at the front line,” said the firm in a statement.

While keeping up with the latest announcements by Malaysia Health Ministry regarding the Covid-19 outbreak in the country, the firm said these workers continue to be at the front line assisting the hospitals every day.
