Munan Laja quits as Sarawak Workers’ Party president

SIBU: Munan Laja has resigned as Sarawak Workers’ Party (SWP) president with immediate effect.

In a press statement today, he said he sent his resignation letter to the party’s secretary office at 8am.

“I need to take a break from politics and give opportunity to others to lead this party.

“With this opportunity, I would like to record my highest appreciation to all party members, the supreme council, youth, women and main party committee for their support all this while as the party president,” he added.

Munan, 59, from Song helmed the post since 2015.
