KUCHING: Kuching North City Commission (DBKU) has issued the order for the closure of all roadside stalls and home tuck shops, in compliance with the Local Government and Housing Ministry’s directive stated in a letter headed MLGH/PH/21JLD 7 (20), dated March 20 this year.

These operations are to be closed until further notice.

Yesterday, teams of DBKU enforcement personnel went around areas under the commission’s jurisdiction across Petra Jaya here to distribute the closure-order notices to the operators.

The areas covered included Kampung Semarang, Jalan Astana, Kampung Pulo Ulu, Kampung Pulo, Kampung Bintawa and Jalan Merdeka.

According to a statement from DBKU, the move is being done in connection with the current Movement Control Order (MCO), which is in effect until March 31, as means to break the chain of Covid-19 infection.
