MIRI: The state Transport Ministry has brought up the issue of flight suspensions with its federal counterpart, particularly involving incoming cargo containing important medical equipment, says its minister Datuk Lee Kim Shin.

“I have contacted the federal Minister of Transport Datuk Seri Dr Wee Ka Siong on the issue caused by the movement control order since March 18.

“During this period, a lot of flights have been temporarily suspended, causing a lot of cargo to be stuck at the terminal,” he said in a statement yesterday.

In this regard, Lee said the Chinese consulate had informed him of a consignment due to arrive in Kuala Lumpur last night, adding that arrangements will be made through a forwarding agent in Kuala Lumpur.

Without providing details of the consignment, he said he had also informed the chief executive officer of MASkargo to help facilitate the matter.
