Ferries to operate only  from 7am to 7pm daily

KUCHING: Ferry operation throughout Sarawak is also subjected to the latest movement control order (MCO).

Several ferries will only operate from 7am to 7pm daily from yesterday (March 25) to March 31, according to Public Works Department (JKR) state director Datu Zuraimi Sabki through a press statement received on Tuesday.

He said the new operating hours of these ferries was in line with the MCO that takes effect from March 18 till April 14, announced by Prime Minister Tan Sri Muhyddin Yassin under the Prevention of Infectious Diseases Act and the Police Act 1967.

Ferry operations affected by the new restriction are those at Batang Rambungan, Batang Lupar (linking Sebuyau and Triso), Batang Saribas (linking Pusa and Beladin), Batang Paloh, Muara Lassa, Batang Igan, Sungai Sian (Bintangor), Batang Kemena (Sebauh), Sungai Lidan (Marudi) and Batang Lawas.

The ferry operation at Sungai Limbang and Sungai Krian (linking Kaba and Kabong) will be closed.
