SIBU: Eight men were nabbed Monday for flouting the Movement Control Order (MCO) after they were found gambling at a shop house in town here.

District police chief ACP Stanley Jonathan Ringgit said the suspects, aged between 22 and 32, were arrested at 3.45pm following a tip-off.

“During the operation, we seized a table, eight plastic chairs, a deck of playing cards, gambling chips and about RM360 in cash,” he said when confirming the arrests yesterday.

The case, he added, is being investigated under Section 7(2) of the Common Gaming Houses Act 1953 and Rule 11(1) of the Prevention and Control of Infectious Disease Regulations 2020.
