KUCHING: The public are advised to disinfect their own homes according to guidelines given by the Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba) Sarawak.

Bomba Sarawak director Khirudin Drahman said the guidelines are available at Bomba Sarawak’s Facebook, Instagram and Twitter social pages.

Khirudin shows the guidelines on the process of sanitisation for homes.

“The guidelines are simple and very straightforward on how sanitisation is done as well as the amount and proper measures of liquid required,” he told a press conference here yesterday.

Khiruddin hoped that the guidelines would give the public confidence in doing sanitisation for their homes.

He said Bomba Sarawak only conducted sanitisation at public places.

“We have identified 534 locations or areas in the red, yellow and green zones for sanitisation,” he said.

It is understood that Bomba Sarawak is now assisting the operators of kindergartens to do sanitisation at their premises before the kindergartens open.

“Bomba will also help kindergarten teachers and nursery attendants on how to clean and disinfect their premises.

“We have commissioned zone heads and heads of the stations to assist the kindergarteners on this matter in preparation for their opening,” he said.

Khirudin also said he would work with the Ministry of Education (MoE) to find the best method to do sanitisation in schools.

“Considering that there are many schools, a meeting on the SOP with MoE and institutions of higher learning will be held,” he added.

He also said Bomba would continue to cooperate and provide necessary assistance needed to break the Covid-19 pandemic.
