KUCHING: The facilities at Dayak Bidayuh National Association (DBNA) headquarters in Jalan Kumpang here including its multi purpose hall will be opened to the public soon.

To prepare for the reopening, a team from Sarawak Health Department came to disinfect the facilities, and were supervised by members of the DBNA building committee.

Apart from the multi purpose hall, disinfection was also carried out at the baruk hall, main office block, and the car park space which also comprises a cafe located under the hall.

DBNA president Datu Ik Pahon Joyik said the facilities had been closed to the public since the Movement Control Order (MCO) was enforced on March 18.

“Today (yesterday), we carry out disinfection of our facilities. We shall gradually open these facilities for booking, but we will have to follow the standard operating procedure of the Ministry of Health such as limiting to just 100 people in the multi purpose hall, encouraging the wearing of face masks, practising social distancing, checking of body temperature, hand sanitising and so on,” he said.

Deputy president Charlie Ungang, DBNA building committee John Anga and Sarawak chief environmental health officer Billy Sujang were also present at the event yesterday.
