MIRI: Teachers from the peninsula, Sabah and Labuan have returned to work at their respective schools in Baram as required by the Ministry of Education, says Telang Usan assemblyman Dennis Ngau.

According to Baram Education Office, the teachers have to comply with the standard operating procedures (SOP) set by the Sarawak Disaster Management Committee (SDMC).

“Teachers teaching in the rural areas of Baram are required to undergo the 14-day quarantine in Miri, and those teaching in the urban areas will undergo the quarantine period at their own residences, also for 14 days.

“They must also undergo swab testing on the 10th day of their quarantine and once confirmed healthy, then they would be allowed to continue traveling to their work areas,” Dennis said when contacted by The Borneo Post.

He called upon teachers to fully cooperate so that students could return to school as planned.

“I also urge parents of students not to worry about the safety of students as the ministry has already taken the appropriate measures. Students must also adhere to and follow the prescribed instructions and procedures,” said the assemblyman.
