Covid-19: 3 new positive cases recorded in Malaysia today, total at 8,637

KUCHING: Malaysia recorded three new positive Covid-19 cases today, bringing the total cumulative tally of cases to 8,637, said Health Director-General Datuk Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah.

“Out of the total number of positive cases, one was an imported case while the remaining two were locally-transmitted cases,” he said.

He added that all new cases involved Malaysians, where two were detected in Selangor and one in Sabah.

Dr Noor Hisham was giving daily updates on the nationwide Covid-19 situation in Putrajaya today.

Meanwhile, he said that 16 cases had recovered and were discharged from the hospital today, bringing the total of recoveries and discharged cases to 8,334.

The death toll remains at 121 as no deaths were recorded today.

Currently, there are a total of 182 active cases, where 4 of them are receiving treatment at the Intensive Care Unit (ICU), out of which 1 require ventilator support.
