KUCHING: Malaysia recorded two new positive Covid-19 cases today, bringing the total number of positive cases to 8,639, said the Health Ministry.
“Out of the total number of positive cases, one of them is an imported case, while the other was locally-transmitted,” a the Health Ministry’s spokesperson said during a Covid-19 update, streamed via KKM official Facebook page today.
He added that all new cases involved Malaysians, where the imported case was detected in Selangor while the locally-transmitted case was detected in Sabah.
Meanwhile, he said 20 cases have recovered and were discharged from the hospital today, bringing the total recovered cases to 8,354.
The death toll remains at 121 as no deaths were recorded today.
Currently, the total active cases is at 164, where four of them are receiving treatment at the Intensive Care Unit (ICU), out of which one requires ventilator support.
