MIRI: The Miri Civic Centre, including the public library located on the first floor, are closed to the public until further notice.
The closure is meant to facilitate the necessary repair works.
According to Minister of Transport Datuk Lee Kim Shin, several sections of the roof including those over the library and the management office of the centre, were damaged due to the downpour on July 23.
“Major repair works need to be done.
“In view of this, Miri Civic Centre will be closed until further notice,” said Lee. who is Senadin assemblyman, when met after visiting the site with Miri Civic Centre manager and engineers from Public Works Department.
Meanwhile, Miri City Council had also issued a notice regarding the closure of the library.
