Police personnel find patrons not practising physical distancing inside the premises.

SIBU: Fifty-two individuals were slapped with RM1,000 compound each for failure to comply with the standard operating procedures (SOPs) under the Recovery Movement Control Order (RMCO) Friday night.

District deputy police chief Supt Collin Babat said police conducted checks at cafes and bistros along Lorong Lau King Howe about 10.10pm.

“All the individuals from the same centre failed to comply with the SOPs by not practising physical distancing,” he said in a media statement.

He said they were ordered to go to the Central Police Station where the compounds were issued to them.

He said two of them who did not bring their MyKad were also ordered to be remanded to facilitate further investigation.
