KUCHING: Bau District police arrested a 28-year-old man, whom they suspected of being involved in illegal online gambling activities.

In a statement issued yesterday, district police chief DSP Poge Nyaon said his men also seized a smartphone and some cash from the man, who was apprehended at a five-footway of a commercial block in Siniawan at around 2.30pm.
“The suspect was working as a shop assistant.
“A background check on him shows that he does not have any past criminal record.
“The case is being investigated under Section 4(1)(c) of Common Gaming Houses Act 1953,’ said Poge.
