Indonesian man feared drowned while trying to untie rope from tugboat propeller

Bomba personnel carrying out SAR operation after an Indonesian man was reported to have drowned in Kuala Baram yesterday.

MIRI: An Indonesian man is feared to have drowned while he was trying to untie a rope from a tugboat’s propeller in Kuala Baram yesterday.  He has been identified as 32-year-old Andriadi Kristianto.

In a statement to the media, Bomba Sarawak Operations Centre said it received a report on the incident at 4.05pm.

“Upon arriving at the scene, the team immediately carried out search using Grappling Iron technique and surface searching. However, the operation was called off at 7pm as it was getting dark. The operation will resume tomorrow (today),” said Law.
