BN’s candidate for Pitas in Sabah polls tests positive for Covid-19

KOTA KINABALU (Sept 26): Barisan Nasional’s (BN) candidate for Pitas in the 16th Sabah state election Sufian Abdul Karim revealed that he has tested positive for Covid-19.

Sufian made the announcement on his Facebook account today.

“I have just received the result of my Covid-19 screening and it was positive. I wish to apologise to all the voters, election machinery, friends and family members who have been assisting me throughout the election campaign.

“Pray that I am given the strength to face all challenges ahead and will recover soon,” his stated.

Sufian also urged all his close contacts to get themselves screened and always be vigilant about their hygiene.

Earlier, two Umno central leaders, supreme council member Datuk Mohd Razlan Rafii and its Information Chief Shahril Sufian Hamdan were tested positive for Covid-19.

Both had been in Sabah campaigning for the 16th Sabah state election.
