KOTA KINABALU (Sept 27): The results of the Sabah state election saw Warisan emerging as the largest single party with 29 seats in the State Legislative Assembly, said its president Datuk Seri Mohd Shafie Apdal.

Pledging to continue with the trust given by voters in Sabah, he thanked all voters who gave their support to Warisan Plus.

“So I hope this is an appreciation to all the people who carried out their responsibility for them to realise a group of elected representatives…to represent the people at Sabah state level…we will continue to honour the trust given by the people

“What I want to say is that the biggest single party is Warisan,” he told reporters early this morning at Rumah Yayasan Sabah in Likas near here.

The Election Commission announced that Gabungan Rakyat Sabah (GRS) which comprised Perikatan Nasional (PN), Barisan Nasional (BN) and PBS won 38 seats while Warisan Plus (Warisan, DAP, Amanah, UPKO and PKR) won 32 seats.

The remaining three seats in Sabah were won by Independent candidates in the state election which saw a total of 73 seats contested. – Bernama
