KUCHING (Sept 27): Parti Pesaka Bumiputera Bersatu (PBB) vice president Datuk Abdul Karim Rahman Hamzah believes the Sabah state election results are a stamp of approval for Prime Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin and Perikatan Nasional.

“Sabahan voters have made their choice and I believe it is a good choice. It’s a manifestation of acceptance to the prime minister Muhyiddin,” said Abdul Karim when commenting on Gabungan Rakyat winning the state election on Saturday.

However, Abdul Karim remarked the results of Sabah elections would not really have any influence on Sarawak in the next state election as the scenario was different.

“Our Chief Minister Datuk Patinggi Abang Johari Tun Openg and the Gabungan Parti Sarawak (GPS) ruling coalition has steered the state well and I believe all Sarawakians are happy and contented,” he said.

He added the state coalition does not have Malayan-based parties in the state government and the state economy has also been managed well so far.

Besides, Abdul Karim stressed the current state government enjoys a good relationship with the federal government and he strongly believed GPS would be well-accepted and mandated to govern the state for another five years.
