MIRI: Miri Hospital’s surgical department is organising a 5km Pinktober Virtual Run in conjunction with Breast Cancer Awareness Month which is celebrated every October.

The event allows participants to complete the 5km run at their own pace anytime and anywhere, including on treadmills.

The running period began on Sept 15 and ends Oct 31, with the registration deadline on Oct 20.

Registration can be done either manually at Ward 5 and Ward 8 of the hospital, or online via http://forms.gle/1dCm3zYKgC7ubs2E9.

The fee is RM55 per person and can be banked into Maybank account number 1610 1622 6383 (Nutrimala Nadia).

After completing the registration process, participants can use any running app to record their run. The accumulated 5km distance can be done through multiple sessions at any pace, or by walking 6,560 steps.

Proof of run completion can be emailed to [email protected].

A race shirt and medal will be distributed either by post or through self-collection after Nov 2.

Those interested can visit ‘Pinktober Miri 2020’ on Facebook for updates on the virtual run as well as on other activities planned to promote breast cancer awareness.
